For 10+ years, you have known us as Tee See Tee....or more realistically, you have known us as "that company that makes the Lord of the Rings t-shirt" or "that guy who sells t-shirts at all the comic cons." For 10 years, I have struggled with explaining what Tee See Tee means(Traverse City T-Shirts, in case you don't know), and spelling "Tee See Tee" over the phone. In short, I have been ice skating uphill(thanks Blade for the great quote!), and I am ready to try a new strategy.
What defines our brand in 2024? Is it the fact that we are based in Traverse City? Not really. Way back in 2014, when I was slinging tees out of the back of a food truck in Traverse City, it made perfect sense. Back then, my world existed solely in TC, and never in a million years did I think the day would come that I was selling t-shirts and stickers to awesome people all over the world! But it has, so now I am realizing the "Tee See" in Tee See Tee is not as relevant as it used to be.
So what is relevant to the brand? Well, I think it is safe to say that our t-shirts resonate with people because they tap into your personal fandoms. Be it Bigfoot hunting, Star Wars, videogames, Lord of the Rings, or something else, odds are, we have a t-shirt that celebrates YOU. Our designs allow you to let your geek flag fly!
So I would like to tell you first, that come 2025, Tee See Tee will officially become Geek Flag Apparel! Our tagline; Let your Geek Flag fly!
The great part is my logo stays the same! I have always been drawn to pirate culture. I have a pirate costume, I have a pirate themed tiki bar in my basement, Cutthroat Island is one of the most underrated movies of all time in my opinion, so when I rebranded Tee See Tee, I used a pirate flag motif. Now the flag logo finally makes sense! Geek Flag Apparel! It just sounds epic, right?
And even better, since I am doubling down on the pirate motif, I am going to base my comic con displays around pirates, so next year, expect parrots, rum barrels, fishing nets, and me in pirate garb, ready to sell you the same great t-shirts and stickers you have come to expect from Tee See Tee, just in a new, far easier to remember name!
